West Ham Bus Garage Goes Green

The West Ham bus garage is a new Transport for London (TfL) facility that replaces two old garages that were demolished to make way for the London 2012 Olympic infrastructure. The garage has parking and engineering facilities for up to 320 busses and it's London's largest. The provision of a 37 meter Northwind 100 adds to the other sustainable features and low energy designs which include CHP, rainwater harvesting, timber structural beams, a living roof and biomass heating which when combined help reduce the CO2 output by around 27% when compared to a traditional industrial building.
