Quality Process Specialist

The Quality Process Specialist is responsible for performing day to day quality functions primarily on the shop floor in our Barre Location.  This position may require some travel (up to 20%).

Responsibilities:

  • Helping to ensure & maintain a safe and healthy work environment
  • Providing support and feedback on continuous improvement initiatives
    • This includes working cross functionally with various working groups within NPS
  • Continuously improving job knowledge and capabilities by participating in educational opportunities as they present themselves
  • Maintaining and administering the Non-Conforming Material process
    • This includes moderating/administering Material Review Board (MRB) sessions as necessary
  • Providing daily production quality support
  • Maintaining and administering the Calibration Log
  • Inspection of incoming parts/materials
    • Using measurement tools such as thermometers, voltmeters, calipers, micrometers, and other inspection related equipment to verify product meets requirements
  • Providing supplier chain, service, and/or engineering quality support

Basic Qualifications

  • High school Diploma
  • 2 years of experience in a continuous improvement & problem solving role
  • Experience in a plant manufacturing environment
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Ability and willingness to travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a lean/flat organization with cross functional skills
  • Green or Black Belt certification
  • Development and enforcement Corporate Standards through conformance auditing and coaching, and read across activities
  • GD&T, Gaging, part inspections, sorting processes, establishing clean points, etc.
  • 8D problem solving technique and method experience
  • Project leadership experience
  • PFMEA and/or station readiness experience
  • 5 Years of experience working within Engineering Prints
    • Including an understanding of GD&T
  • Overall working knowledge and experience of quality processes (Incoming Quality, NCM, Production Processes, MRB, Calibration)
